By Laura Zewe 02/07/2022, 1:15pm EST

After a weekend of big swings, tremendous digs, and more than a few service aces, the results are in!

Steel City Freeze wrapped up with 3 teams on the podium as champions of their bracket plus 3 more with gold bracket finishes.  16-Phantom, 12-Unicorn, and 18-Noble led the gold charge, finishing 5th, 7th, and 9th overall.  13-Stardust, 13-Sunrise, and 14-Tsunami represented well, all earning a 1st place finish in their bracket (bronze, copper, and silver respectively).

Our Allegheny teams competed in a combined 144 sets over the two day event!  Up next 12-Unicorn and 12-Guppy travel to Uniontown, OH and 18-Noble is headed to the Presidents' Day Cup in Columbus.

MLK Kickoff Challenge

By Laura Zewe 01/23/2022, 3:00pm EST

The 2022 season is off to a strong start

Eight EC Power Allegheny teams opened the 2022 season over MLK weekend. Spooky Nook and the York Expo center were witness to tough serves, athletic saves, and big swings as the teams earned a combined 35-30 match record. Check out our individual team results.

Special mention to Sam on 14 Rain for demonstrating sportsmanship and generosity. Between sets in the championship match, the daughter of the other team's coach fell and hurt her knee. Sam quickly remedied the situation by grabbing her extra pair of kneepads from her bag and sharing them with the child.  What a great moment to remind us all that sport is about more than the numbers on the scoreboard!
